Google shakeup?

Am I the only one to see a huge shakeup of Google results?
Some of the big spammers are totally gone?
Just checked a few phrases, but they all have totally different pages in the top10.

Yeah, they haven't updated since august, with rumors floating around that the delay was due to a MAJOR house cleaning and anti-spam measures.

Hopefully this is an opportunity for more legit practices to dominate, but I have my doubts that they can really clean it up. They better because spammers are really ruining their "relevance" which is their entire value proposition, specially if they are about to do a multi billion $$$ IPO.

Hmm some big spammers are gone, but I see geocities spam back in the top 10

Still spammy pages in most top10's but not as bad as before.

Damn, some of my sites that have been in the top 10 for months are no where to be seen while some booted to page 2. Hope this shakeup will level off, or it's back to the drawing board. lol

I'm seeing more subpages and subdirs listed.
Before it was mostly root listings in the top10.

Google spam is often good for adwords users. When the top 10 keyword search results all go to some randomly stuffed page that has little relevance it probably encourages the surfer to click on those ads that at least have some content to them.

Don't panic or celebrate yet, they are still shuffling if you look at results from their 4 main servers

here's the url for that result tool

Google is a bit scary at the moment. I keep getting sites both adult and non appear, vanish then appear again. Like has been said it needs to settle before I'll get too worried though. Just hope that when it does the sites are all back

The results are settled here in Europe.
www, www2 and www3 are identical.

Doesn't mean it's finished. The servers AREN'T identical for all terms (but then haven't been for a very long time now) if you check enough and sites are still popping up and vanishing again.

Maybe not finished, but it's settled down. Few pages might move around.

Good update!

Good update!

horrible update.....
good and content rich pages with #1 spots on keywords bringing 3-4k searches a day are not to be found on the next 10 pages

how gay is that
and all the big spammers are still where they were before.
some even got way better results now

The update looks old... Theres tons of spam pages in there. Maybe google is going back in time?

Or maybe shitty results will force users to click on paid inclusion links and they can boost their IPO to 50 Billion instead of 20.

No definitely new domains in there. We got our latest in.
But you're right. It does look like similar pattern as a few months ago, sexed up with a few new domains.

this is a major change. All i see is tons of topic relevant stuff gone from the index. The subdomain spammers have completely taken control
look at this

http://www.google.com/search?num=100...ing+break+pics

Looks like the key now is crosslink heavily...google totally owned on this update...keyword stuffing and crosslinking...bummer

whom do you tell
http://www.google.com/search?num=100...break+pictures
little different keyword
i had as on 100 other gr8 keywords AWESOME positions
and now

want another fucked up one:
http://www.google.com/search?num=100...shirt+contests

plus tons of others......

also i was just told:
"google went back atleast a couple of months
if you search for madonna nude
you'll see that the amazon pages are back at the top"
they havent been there for months!

this is a small proof that google defently went back to older months updates for whatever reason
i also found more stuff to proof that on totally different keywords

pretty fucked up

Not much difference over here, but I don't do adult SEO and I don't use alot of already heavily spamed terms.

This is a really screwy update. I have several pr5 sites that have been in the top 5 for over a year. Now there kicked back to page 3 and most of the sites on page 1 or pr3. This makes no since I hope things get better.

I can definitely live with these Google changes. Although Google has indexed the site I edit for years, seaches on "blonde+black+stockings" or "brunette+tan+stockings" never brought up the site going pages in and now they are in the top 3. There's no logic to it though as the *archives* page is the one showing up as indexed and the *main* page is viewed 500,000+ times a day. And the Google foreign extensions(.de, .it, .fr, etc) are now sending traffic they never were before. Freebies!

didn't say i think google spam is cool you tard. sayin' my adwords ratios have been great since a spammer got all the top placements on a lucrative set of keywords. his pages have no keyword-related content so fuckit... my clicks and roi have been great since he showed up. now suckitbitch

I was #1 for a search phrase for a year or more then suddenly fell near the back for months, came back last week at #7 and now am not there at all. BUT google DID manage to put a pop-up hell at #1 for that search phrase. If I put it in quotes (the phrase is in my title) Google says there are no sites that match my search. WTG Google, we need more sites with nothing but pop-ups and none with content!

I just checked another one of my sites that has never been higher than the 3rd page back or so and only if I got really narrow with the search. Now it's on the first page using the search phrase intended, go figure... Google is Goofy

The more I look around, it's looking like the algo was just changed. None of my sites are banned, or any pr dropped. Just alittle tweeking once this is all settled and I *think* I can be back.
Hope your competitor was banned

I haven't seen much of a change regarding adult kw's.. But my mainstream kw's have got my sites not showing up in the top 1000.. but, no need to worry, the update continues, so I guess we'll see the final outcome of everything within the next few days.

I haven't read all your responses and I've been keeping my fingers crossed - I am noticing however that these are older results perhaps early 2003. There is definitely a shuffle...but I'm seeing the spammers that were there prior to June in my targetted keywords & phrases.

Spammers still own the terms I am after. Even more so now. Some legitimate sites that were on the frontpage have dropped back 100-150 results.
